THE PROTECTOR-NGO COALITION MEETING RESULTS MIXED?

As reported earlier, NGOs Nurture, Verdant Future and Humanity First held a meeting with Cromwell Oil. The purpose of the meeting was to attempt to get Cromwell Oil to push their environmental agenda, Cromwell Oil spokesperson Emad Kiyaei made an official statement to The Protector that "all parties were engaged and the creation of an external review committee has been established to bring the interests of NGOs and local communities forth in our meetings with the government. We are more than happy about this cooperation and we are hopeful for the future." Kiyaei also stated that he believed the stocks of Cromwell Oil will rise after this meeting and expressed confidence in his company and reiterated that shareholders have nothing to be concerned about. Open Books International will be representing the interests of all civil society groups in the forthcoming meetings between Cromwell Oil and the government. As for other NGO interests, Verdant Future appeared somewhat disconcerted as they emerged from the meeting, although they have not made an official statement as yet.
