As British Oil Company, Cromwell has been facing a decline in its stock
price due to bad publicity in recent weeks and a sale, it is other major oil
companies in buy out or bid for oil production facilities in recently
discovered oil rich regions such as Discordia. In order to maintain its
share-price and turn things aroung, it must increase its investment in
exploration. Discordia is the most promising investment for the future of
the company.
Reports from a senior official at Cromwell told The Mentor that the unnamed
person who sold a large share of Cromwell stock may be buying those shares
back. The company is trying to maintain investor confidence. In Discordia,
it hopes that its efforts to engage all local and governmental stakeholders,
produce a transparent social and environmental assessment report, its
success with supporting AIDs clinics in Discordia will be effective in
maintaining its investor base.
Cromwell has been in talks with the Northwest Alliance faction of the government. The company confirms support from two major ministries in the government and movement forward of their contract to begin oil production. However, unless this happens quickly the company may be face tough decisions and face a buy out by a larger Oil company with significant resources, such as Nosferatu, which is largely influenced and linked to its government in Shavia. Cromwell is also preparing for possible buy-out. In case of a buy out, Cromwell maintains that it will put strict benchmarks on the overtaking company and its operations in Discordia. Its work with Open Books and open dialogue with the Central Discordia Unity League implied that it was making headway on the ground.
A buy out could have significant implications for the British economy in
terms of its control over the Edgehill Field in Britain and a loss of jobs.
