WPDB: Cromwell Releases Environmental Report, Withholds Information pertaining to Human Deaths

During a recent press release, representatives at Cromwell Inc. announced that they would be heeding calls initially made by the Washington Patriot for the release of its environmental assessment report regarding its proposed drilling operations in Discordia. This comes as a relief to those who seek to safeguard the environment of this nation. However, Cromwell’s transparency has been tainted by obfuscation of a recent tragedy costing human lives. Verdant Future, an environmental action group, has recently revealed that Cromwell employed the Discordian military to seek out kidnapped employees. During this recovery operation, upwards of 90 civilians – many women and children – were killed. Cromwell announced that it “deeply regrets” this atrocity and has pledged to compensate families of the tragedy – though details of the compensation scheme have not been announced. Furthermore, during a recent press conference, Cromwell employees debated representatives of Verdant Future regarding the number of civilians killed – with Cromwell insisting the number was 29. Following this announcement, in a Patriot interview, a Cromwell spokesperson refused to refute or endorse this figure. As a result, the public is left in the dark.

Now is the time for clarity on the part of Cromwell. Releasing the environmental assessment is an important first step in establishing trust. Now the company must release information regarding this most recent instance of violence perpetrated in the shadow of oil development.
