It appears that the nation of Shavia has interests in Discordia that appear to go beyond Nosferatu winning an bid on the Block 77 oil discovery. The mentor has obtained information that two representatives of Nosferatu, the state oil company of Shavia, have been spotted at local luxury hotel in Gladstone having discussions with a Shavian aircraft salesperson.
In and of itself this would not appear problematic but when coupled with the notion Shavia is struggling to support its arms industry in light of losing out on several key NATO contracts signals that they are in desperate need to win an arms contract. A Shavian arms-trade mission was recently in Discordia attempting to sell attack helicopters and armored personnel carriers. It would be imperative for Shavian arms dealers to secure these contracts in an attempt to avoid massive layoffs. Layoffs which could have catastrophic political results in Shavia. Sources tell the Mentor that the Shavian government needs to avoid these layoffs at all costs.
This presents the notion that winning the oil deal may be tied to arms sale to the country. Nosferatu had nothing to say on this report when asked multiple times throughout the day. Once again the lack of transparency demonstrated by Nosferatu shows that Cromwell needs to be seen as the correct choice for the Discordian government to move in the correct direction.
